Publicis London wins at The Drum Dream Awards 2016 for Tourism Ireland ‘Game of Doors’

At last night’s The Drum Dream Awards held at London’s Emirates Stadium, Publicis London’s ‘Doors of Thrones’ campaign for Tourism Ireland picked up the award for Advertising Strategy and the award for Illustration. The campaign also received commendations in five other categories; Leisure, Travel & Sport – single execution or campaign; Experiential – Temporary Installation & Live; and Digital – Social Media.

The campaign was created to coincide with the return of HBO’s fantasy drama Game of Thrones® earlier this year, Tourism Ireland activated the campaign around the show where much of it is shot in Northern Ireland.

Building upon the creative aligned with previous season, the campaign kicked off with a series of 10 intricately carved doors, depicting moments inspired by season six as it progressed – in weekly activations.

The doors were carved from storm-felled trees at Dark Hedges in Antrim where many of the show’s Kingsroad scenes are filmed.
All ten doors have been hung in various pubs along the Game of Thrones® hotspots across Northern Ireland.
