‘Doors of Thrones’ for Tourism Ireland awarded the Chairman’s Award at The Drum Creative Out of Home Awards

At last night’s The Drum Creative Out of Home Awards, Publicis London was awarded the Chairman’s Award for its Doors of Thrones campaign for Tourism Ireland.

This year’s awards, which were sponsored by Fepe International and livedooh.com, marked a major change since their inception in 2012, with the entries being opened internationally for the first time.

Trevor Beattie was appointed as chairman and singled out Publicis London for notable praise for its ‘Doors Of Thrones’ campaign.

The ad agency’s work for Tourism Ireland celebrated Ireland’s pivotal role in the popular TV series Game of Thrones. After Storm Gertrude destroyed numerous trees along Ireland’s 400 year-old tourist attraction, The Dark Hedges, Publicis came up with the idea to use the wood to design 10 beautifully crafted spoke doors, each depicting an episode from the sixth season of the show.

The doors were then installed in the local pubs of a Game of Thrones filming location, forming a tour through season six which spans the length and breadth of Ireland.
